This is not on the beaten track. A visit here is a quality experience because you can really feel the history and spirituality of the place without hundreds of tourists. I was there on a weekday about 9:00 with a private guide and with maybe...More

I knew I would be impressed by this Mayan ruin by the pictures I had seen but I was not prepared by how awesome it really is. It is not as big as Chitchenitza , as noisy, as commercial as overrun by tourists like myself....More

We were staying at Hacienda Uayamon nearby, so coming here was a no-brainer. Easy to find and relatively compact in a neat, well-groomed park-like setting. Not as impressive as places like Uxmal, Ek Balam, or Chichen Itza, but still worth the trip if visiting Campeche.

We took the colectivo (public bus) from Campeche to the Edzná ruins yesterday and they were absolutely fantastic. There were only two other tourists there during the time we were and it felt like we had the ruins to ourselves! The scale of the buildings...More

The weather was cool, even in the Yucatan, and it seemed like a good opportunity to see Campeche without soaking my shirts. Spent my first day exploring the old walled city, awesome, then the next morning I drove East a half hour or so to...More

Edzna is only 45 minutes from Campeche (you can even get there by a taxi). The site is magnificent and small enough to explore in a couple of hours.

This is an amazing site. It's one of the oldest Mayan sites in Yucatan. It's easily accessible from Campeche, and yet there were maybe 10 people there during our visit. Highly recommended.

We were only in the area for 10 days over the Christmas holiday with time to see just three ruins, due to other adventures. As disappointing as that was, Edzna compensated in spades. This site is so spectacular that we really felt deeply connected to...More

Beautiful ruins. A short walk through the forest to arrive there but worth the 1.5 hour drive from Campeche. Also be sure to get a tour guide. There are some hidden gems in the ruins that are worth being explained.

We visited the site in a couple of hours, and were amazed with the intensity of the views, as well as the magnificence of many of the buildings. Even if it's super hot, it's a very important landmark of the area, so it's a must...More

The bus leaves from the south Champoton Terminal. First run at 6am and then at 10 am (check for changes with your concierge or a travel agency). We took a personal tour in car, for $1,000.00 pesos (more or less $50.00 dlls.)
