You come to Campeche City, mostly to see this excellently preserved Spanish colonial city, but you can't leave without a visit to the ancient Mayan city of Edzna. The site was inhabited as early as 600 BC and abandoned in the 16th century. It was...More

Wow, we really enjoyed our day here. We did a day tour to the area with Kankabi’OK tour company and Alfredo was our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Mind-blowing structure! Covers a huge plaza area, the Pyrimid is huge. It's very well kept, no hawkers, hardly any one else there when we visited. Interpretation boards are good enough and in English. Some fantastic carvings in stone to be seen as well as the...More

This beautiful piece of history is wonderful to explore. I stood in the middle of the huge central area on the lush green lawn and when I clapped my clapping was echoed loud and clear.

Amaizing, breathkaing, best of all there are very few tourist visiting, so you have the whole place to yourself, great photos. A little out of the way but well worth it.

Edzna is a grand site. Its grandeur is the best seen from the steps of Nohoch-Na across the Great Acropolis and at the Acropolis itself. Climbing the Building of the Five Stories is prohibited unfortunately.

The bus leaves from the south Champoton Terminal. First run at 6am and then at 10 am (check for changes with your concierge or a travel agency). We took a personal tour in car, for $1,000.00 pesos (more or less $50.00 dlls.)
