Please note this is for the museum, not the ruins themselves. The ruins are fantastic. The museum part is currently closed, unfortunately. Many artifacts from Calakmul are at the Campeche museum.

Theses ruins are well worth the drive. The roads are easy to drive, and the directions pretty straight forward. Once you get there you will be transported to another time. Jungle trails and amazing ruins. Our guide was very informative and worthwhile.

You feel like a discoverer when you enter the site. Trails take you through the jungle to the temples. On the way you might see several animals. We spotted howler monkeys and spider monkeys. The temples are still surrounded by trees. When you climb you...More

I was lucky to be part of a private tour of the site and learned a great deal about the buildings before having the opportunity to climb the ruins; but many others there were touring the site on their own. The rise on building 2...More
