This is a really relaxing small wooden boat cruise to the mouth of the Pieman River where you can walk along the beach and admire the rocks and shorebirds. You spend 90 minutes at the mouth of the river where you can walk down to the beach and have lunch sitting on a large tree branch. The cruise along the... More

The main reason my travel companions and I made the trek out to Corinna was to step aboard the historic Arcadia II, built in 1939. This old wooden vessel is built of Huon Pine planking over Tasmanian hardwood frames. Lucky for us, the day we took the cruise was the vessel's first day back in service, after having been out... The river trip from Corrina to the mouth of the Pieman River is one of unspoilt beauty and tranquil serenity. Chugging along at a stately 7knots gives you the chance to appreciate the grandeur of the river and surrounding flora. Although decimated for the valuable Huon Pine in earlier years, it is still a place of overgrown dense trees and... More

I can't add much to what already has been said about this cruise. If you are not up to Kayaking the Pieman River (very easy) then this cruise is a great way to see the natural vegetation that lines the river. The forest is different on each side, and bird watchers will be in their element. The beach scenery at... More

Dale and Barry were fantastic tour guides. It was an incredibly entertaining and informative cruise down the river with plenty of downtime to just relax and enjoy the scenery. We loved the cushions at the front of the boat where we could sit front row to the amazing surrounds. The packed lunch was great and perfect to take on a... More

An enjoyable day with friends. A beautiful river with amazing reflections. A grand old boat to enjoy. Friendly husband and wife team looked after us. My constructive criticism is for the captain to do his necessary safety talk before departure and save the history for when on the move. 15 min at the dock was frustrating before the journey of... We were well looked after in this cruise, morning tea and a simple packed lunch provided, a gentle cruise downstream with talks on the vegetation, geology, history and ecology of the area from the captain. We saw waterfalls and eagles too. Lunch at pieman heads was a chance to stretch the legs over the log strewn beach. Before the rerun... More

Although its nice to potter through pines and rain forest this trip went on a bit too long with very little commentary but i guess there is not much to say. The day we went was very wet and cold and knee rugs maybe a nice touch lunch was very ordinary muffins were dry and stale. Moring up for an... More
