it had three floors with more than 4000 holes in the walls for pigeon, the holes are in the same shape and inside the building is cool and well ventilated.

We stopped here on the way out of Meybod. It is a big tower that houses pigeons. In the past, pigeons were used for transferring communications between posts on the Persian empire and the bird poo was a great source of fertiliser. There are plenty...More

Pigeon tower is a tower, created for pigeons. Why all pigeons should be placed in one tower? Since back then farmers did not have fertilizers, they used pigeons dung in the fields :)

An unexpected highlight of this town! I might have missed it, but I am very glad I didn't! Shiraz also has buildings like this one.

The interiors are so amazing i haven't seen like that before so unique. pigeon tower concept is to use the pigeons poop as fertilizer for their crops during the earlier times. now it is just a tourist spot

Fortunately the ticket is only 1 💶, It’s an amazing place where they gather natural agricultural fertilizer by the help of pigeons. An interesting point is it’s great architecture using a circular pattern in order to stop snakes trying to enter the tower

One of the biggest pigeon towers in Iran is located in Meybod. It's a well-preserved tower with the capacity of 4000 pigeons.
