I traveled by car so had the luxury of stopping along the way. The road is winding and narrow.. crowded with tourist side stops and buses. But, a great view looking straight up at the rock formations towering above you. A beautiful spot in an...More

A very beautiful walk by nature where the immense mountains and the purity of the air are not equal. The sound of the flowing mountain water, the beauty of the road that gives you the feeling that has been created for you, the shopping at...More

Bicaz Canyon (Cheile Bicazului in Romanian) is best done on foot in a 30-40 minutes walk. I started right above the first road switchbacks and all the way out to the first restaurant (which you'll see on the right side after the Canyon opens up)....More

A short but interesting narrow canyon with high sides. You need to stop and have a wander around since you are out of the canyon very quickly.

We went out of our way to see the gorge and were not unimpressed. Admittedly we've seen some amazing gorges / canyons / defiles elsewhere in Europe but this certainly had some incredibly high sides / cliffs. There's only so much you can walk -...More

This was a surprise. Beautiful drive through high walls of stone along a river. Don't know what to compare it to, maybe Yosemite. Didn't expect to find this in Romania.

We came here in the snow and ice; it was absolutely fantastic. There were fabulous views as we gradually drew closer. And as we drove through we just had to stop and take photos - it was really worth coming to.
