This is a beautiful ancient Church and we enjoyed the audio tour inside. We then climbed the bell tower for some great views. A wonderful place on this tiny island.

I just visited the Basilica and the Bell Tower - I did not go into the museum as the day was nice and I preferred to spend it outdoors exploring the island. My combined ticket entitled me to an audio guide, which was good at...More

This church serves a small population, but is worth a visit as the mosaics are outstanding. We went up the tower which is quite a climb, about 80 steps. but the views are worth it.

This basilica is a wonderful example of an early church in the Veneto region, dating from 9th to 11th Century, when Torcello still rivalled nearby Venice for economic activity. The church is reached via a walkway just over 5 to 10 mins from the vaporetto...More

Beautiful inside, really interesting decoration and good value. Beware for a cold welcome from the staff though. They’re not glad to see you. Press on.

It was raining very heavily on the day we went to Torcello, maybe that influenced my experience. But it was lovely, a really calm place to go, a nice change from the packed city of Venice. The church is really nice, I can recommend going...More

I was disappointed with my visit. Guidebooks use words like "remote", "peaceful", etc. to describe Torcello, but it was heaving with visitors - the Basilica was very crowded. When I bought my ticket, I was told that the audioguide was included. When I went to...More

Torcello on its own is beautiful. It is so different than any of the other islands. The main draw on Torcello is the Basilica. I remember thinking the fee to get in was a little high, but now can't recall the price. We were lucky...More

It was easy to reach Torcello from Venice using public transportation. I bought a day pass and then Google maps told me which boat to use and the arrival times. Once landing in Torcello, it was easy to find the Basilica - just follow the...More

Hi nancywis2, I do believe you will be fine visiting the Basilica. The dress code would be no different than any other church in Venice. Enjoy!
