Siolim cooking school was born out of a passion for tropical flavors and foreign cuisines. It offers a fascinating insight into Goan life, faiths and culture through learning about its food, cooking and culinary myths.Participants learn about the exotic spices and blends used in every day Goan dishes, and actively prepare the generous feast that will then be enjoyed together.Class teachings and discussions are relaxed and friendly and held in the elegant ground of the boutique hotel Little Siolim. Discussions include specific references to the role of food in Goan society and its ceremonial use and religious importance.

Realy a must visit destination for all who are visiting Siolim beach. Netty allowed us to cook the fod and also guided how to add flavours to a normal food. Really had a vibrant experience and truly amazed to be here.

We had an excellent half day cooking with Netty. She not only showed us how to cook a number of dishes, including a local Goan fish curry and a pork sorpotel but also took us to the local market to source all the required ingredients, the highlight being the walk around the fish market where all the days catch was... How would you like to be your own chef? Well, you can feel very accomplished at the Siolim Cooking School at Little Siolim House where we shopped for groceries and produce, cooked in an open kitchen facing a gigantic mango tree, took in the aromas while we stuffed pomfrets and simmered chicken in its juices for a traditional Goan style... As a guest of Britta Reid on this cooking course, I can only endorse what she has to say about it. I would add that the water was only offered with the meal after many hours of marketing and cooking. Having travelled for two hourse in the early morning from Cavelossim my daughter and I were really thirsty and ran... More

I attended the class on 27th December with 3 cooking participants who were guests of mine and one gentleman who was joining us for lunch. I believe that your website is severely misleading as it shows pictures of people cooking at individual stations in salubrious and light open air surroundings. We were taken to to nearby house which was in... More

I booked this course in low season as I was desperate to do a cooking course during my stay in Goa. For 2200 rupees I would of rethought my decision but the experience was worth it because of the fantastic lady that taught us. I learnt so much about indian food as a whole and some really great ways of... More

My husband and I really enjoyed this cooking experience. We were lucky as there was only the two of us in the class. We learnt lots of tricks and came away with fabulous recipes to try at home. The lady and her daughter were so friendly with lots of stories about Goan lifestyle and as a teacher they filled me... More

We attended this "course" but all it was was watching a lady cook for 3hours. It was so disappointing as I am an enthusiastic cook and really wanted to learn how to cook Goan food. For two people it cost £50, it was a complete waste of money and would not recommend this demonstration.
