This site has a great little museum which gives a great insight into the rich gold mining history of the area. It also details how Reefton became the fist place in the Southern Hemisphere to have a public power supply - generated by hydro. Well...More

This is a small town, with mining history. The lunch was good. Light with salads. Then you walk to the visitors center and they have a mining tour and display . The guide was very interesting but overall I didn't really enjoy it. Sorry

It's very big, quite interesting. Lots more there than expected; looks tiny from outside! Didn't talk to the people but the information there was good!

This Tourist Information Center is very well organized. You can learn a lot about the history of this former mining town. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The provided variety of gifts and postcards is lovely and affordable.
