Classical music lovers will really enjoy this museum. Large car park, excellent friendly welcome, very interesting artefacts and information on Elgar's life. The little cottage where he was born is a gem and the garden a treat too with views across to the Malverns. We were told that the Museum is scheduled to become National Trust. On another point, the... More

As big fans of classical music this is a great place to learn more about and the man and his music. I visited here over a decade back, the included audio guides and video have given this attraction improved value since then. The visitors centre is well laid out and its lovely to be able to listen to excerpts of... More

Been there with my hubby a few years ago. Beautiful building and fascinating history. Saw the upstairs room where Elgar was born.

Always wanted to go, but sometimes these places disappoint. This museum certainly did not for me. Houses are just buildings, but with all the personal possessions and the well laid out museum, I felt I was transported back to his time. I went the day after the Last Night of the Proms which was a coincidence, but the feelings of... More

I'd recommend this pleasant little house and museum. The staff are friendly and helpful, it's peaceful, and you learn a lot about Elgar himself.

It was a most pleasant surprise to find the Elgar Birthplace Museum just 3.5 miles away from our hotel in Bransford. The site consists of a modern (2000) visitor centre, the Elgar Birthplace Cottage and Garden. I found the staff in the Visitor Centre very helpful. The portable audio guide worked perfectly, giving me audio descriptions of many objects -... More

The cottage is well laid out with many of Elgar's possessions. The (relatively new) museum has a wonderful collection of extracts of his manuscripts as well. The introductory video is good if you are new to Elgar, and want an introduction to who he was, and his work.
