Mt Maunganui is home though I currently live in Christchurch. I think it is one of the best spots in NZ. It is a safe town to visit for families and solo travelers( I was a Police Officer there ) Lovely beach, great cafes and plenty to see and do. Can' wait to move back again…

Everyday something new.

Great for children in that you can walk along the beach the water is nice and not too deep. Easy to get to the base of the Mount and then a nice track to walk around before stopping for an icecream

One of The Best in the World

Beautiful white sand surf beach. Surf lifeguard patrolled in summer. World famous. Surf lessons available. Great for swimming and surfing, paddle boarding and kayaking. Cafes and shops nearby

Dont go there

You don't want to visit this place is beautiful beaches there is amazing restaurants with food from every country in the world there is free parking there is a park for skateboarding and there is ample beautiful sunshine don't go there. I am retiring shortly to Mount Maunganui…

What a View

We didn't have time to stop and soak up the sunshine but the main beach of the Mount was glorious on the sun drenched day we visited. Cold waters, specky surf and plenty of clean stretches of sand make this a holiday haven.
