The self guided audio tour here is way less interesting though around the same price as Barcelona's Sagrada Familia cathedral. So for the price I got a machine where "low battery" kept popping up and a walk around a confusing layout. Luckily we only had...More

To be honest, the tour was interesting but its not a very good area for a function. Our tour guide was great, very informative, and it interesting to see the old place. As a function centre, it sucked. We were in winter, and it was...More

WE visited on a Thursday afternoon and were the only two customers. The self guided audio tour is very effective, informative and easy to use. It can be chilly and dress accordingly because much of the tour is outside. Our visit took 90 mins and...More

The self-guided historical tour of Maitland Gaol is very interesting, allow about 1 1/2 hours to complete. It is quite a sobering experience to enter the cells, which have been left in much the same condition as when they were inhabited by inmates. The architecture...More

Very impressed with the kids matinee movies run at the gaol. They provide bean bags, nibblies are about $3, it's warm and great kids movies. In our case, Ice Age. Will be back!

Hi Jo, the self guided audio tour is $22 for adults ($16 for concession/children) and runs 10am-3pm. There are other guided tours available for a slightly higher price i.e. $28 Cheers, Marc
