We are from Hawke's Bay and had a fun day at the Saleyards tour yesterday morning. The friendly tour guide (a recently-retired farmer) was very knowledgeable and approachable and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. You could see everything you wanted without paying for the tour ($10) but our experience was enhanced with the guide and we felt the price was... More

They were completely engaged and amazed to find this huge stock trading event in the middle of town. You can get right in amongst the sheep, cattle and dogs, watch the auctioneers at work and see the locals buying their stock. Literally thousands of animals come and go through here

Take some time to see rural New Zealand at work. An opportunity for a local, retired farmer to show you around the sale yards in action. a real treat. Anyone with a rural interest should take the time to check out the sale yards in action

Our guide was a retired farmer and very knowledgeable of the animals and the auction process. He was very polite and professional and answered... More

What an amazing piece of live history! For $10 a retired farmer shows you the ins and outs of NZ,s biggest sale yard. Hint...don't wear leather soled shoes...

Appeals to people with agricultural interests and also people who enjoy seeing something really different to the normal guided tour. The auctioneers perform well on sale days and it's a real operational stock sale - the largest saleyard in NZ well worth visiting

We had Canadian visitors staying and decided to take them on a Saleyards Tour, something we had not done ourselves. What a surprise we all loved it, it was so entertaining and interesting. Would really recommend this tour.

Observe close up the auction of thousands of sheep and cattle, right in the middle of Feilding. Experience the smells, the noise, see all the handsome farmers and stock agents - not to mention the handsome sheep and cattle as well! Learn about how unique these Sale Yards are in the Feilding economy and history. The guides are farmers and... More
