I visited the park with family. We booked a cab as we were planning to visit few places enroute. We went to Batu caves ( better go in the morning as the main sannidhi was closed in the noon), Iskindar falls ( not worth it, poorly maintained), Silver faced monkey sanctuary, another temple, eagle feeding and finally fireflies park. The... More

it's around 1.5h away drive from KL but its nice drive. I expected to see large number of fireflies but it was confined to only few trees. A person will take you a row boat to get up close with natural fire emitters .

We were a group of 8, we had to wait until were given the life jackets, which were old, torn and smelly. Any way, we came to enjoy the night, so we stepped into the boat, had our seats and waited to reach the fireflies colony, it took about 10 minutes before the boat driver turn off all the lights,... Went here as a side trip from my stay in KL. Unfortunately it was raining that day, but did not prevent us from seeing the fireflies. The resort itself is very basic, not a lot of instructions (make sure you get a number for the line to get get on the boat). The boat ride was about 20min, pleasant enough.... More

it was really untidy, smelly and badly managed site. the life jackets were like never washed since the advent of mankind on earth. the boats were really untidy, and the water was smelly and black, the coast was also full of rubbish and mosquitoes.however the fireflies in the mangroves were great. there were so many many many fireflies spreaded over... I took D-Tours for Eagle Feeding & Firefly tour. For foreigners tour is little expensive, as compared to Malaysians. Firefly tour starts from 7:30 pm. Buy ticket, wear life jackets, & wait for your turn. It takes some time to reach the main viewing area. But once you are there, its just beautiful feels like twinkling stars on both sides... More

Located in the middle of an oil palm plantation, close to a smelly palm oil mill, I'm amazed these little flies are still alive. I last visited these fireflies 15 years ago, and the numbers don't seem to have reduced significantly. We took D Tours from the jetty beside the seafood restaurant in Kuala Selangor and paid RM20 for locals... More

The area is not very user friendly for elderly or less mobile people. The waiting area is partially covered and limited seating area. Toilet when I was there... try not to go unless it's emergency. After the waiting area, you are let into sort like the departure area where you help yourselves to the life-vests mainly one size and children's... More
