Jiaju is the name of the Tibetan village here in Danba. Danba is located 1 day's drive from Chengdu. It is definately a place worth to spend one night at. The village is protected as a cultural heritage by local government and the Danba Jiarong Tibetans are considered a sub-group of Tibetans here. They are also considered very beautiful people... I started out to write a review of the village hotel in which we stayed but encountered difficulty identifying which place it was. My itinerary called it Lanfeng Hotel but the plaque in the courtyard identified it as "Village Hotel". It was a property capable of accommodating about 30 people. It was definately in Jiaju Village. From Danba, an unattractive... More

We flight from Chengdu to Kangding, and then drive to Danba County which located in west part of Sichuan province. Jiaju Tibetan is a very beautiful village, the build style and culture are very special.

Just 5km from Danba, we simply flagged down a local car and paid a small amount for a lift. It costs 50 rmb for an adult to enter the town. The kids were free. The views are stunning. There are three viewing platforms as well as other attractions such as this beautiful ancient polar woodland. Very pleasant indeed. It was a... More

I guided a group of people from Chengdu to Jiaju Tibetan Village via Jinchuan county and Danba county to see Pear Flowers on Mar.20-23, 2015. Jiaju Tibetan Village was selected as one of six most beautiful villages in China by Chinese National Geographic Magazin. The village is located on the mountain range at an altitude of 2200m in Danba County,... More

Jiarong Tibetans ( Gyarong Tibetans 嘉绒藏族) are one of the branches of the ethnic Tibetans in Kham. On October 19, we visit Jiaju Tibetan Village, a typical Jiarong Tibetan village, about 10 km north of the downtown Danba. There are a slew of Jiarong Tibetan villages in the surrounding mountainous areas. Jiaju Tibetan Village (甲居藏寨) with 270 Tibetan houses is... More

The views from this village are amazing. Many of the houses are also informal guest houses, you can stay full board for about ¥100 per night each. The whole place is fantastic, and highly recommended.

We stayed in a really beautiful guest house just like every house in this rural village. You can see the true danba tibetan life style and architecture, admire the lanscape , take a walk up in the mountain.I truly recommend this instead of staying in a hotel down in danba, not very beatiful city. The village is 15min by minibus to danba, bus station....
