Highly recommend this wonderful museum. My father was in the NZ Navy for his career and served in WW2 and Korea. The photos, exhibits and information are so interesting and informative. I was immersed for ages and it gave me such an understanding of what...More

This place is open only a few hours a day but it is worth the visit. Piano, pump organ, victrola and many local items. Shoes were interesting. Visit it is fantastic.

To tell the history of the navy in a way that is interesting, informative but still respectful of the sacrifice made is quite a challenge. They have succeeded. The story is both comprehensive and concise. Like all good museums, the story is told in full...More

We stopped by the museum on our visit to Devonport and enjoyed the walk along the water from the pier to get there. Pretty small with a few interesting articles and local history.

What a delightful experience we had at the Devonport Museum. The hours are short, Tuesday-Thursday 10:00-12:00 as it is staffed only by volunteers. There are extended weekend hours. So much history is compressed in this interesting space inside what was once the Cambria caldera. The...More

First of all the location could not be better, end of the road at North Head Devonport itself a worthy look at. The museum is well laid out and is a journey down memory lane. The exhibits are well presented and each tells it own...More

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. This is half a historic old church moved to a site in Mt Cambria Reserve. Interesting displays of historic Devonport with knowledgable local to show us around. Nice to visit as part of a walk around Devonport.
