We did the track from scenic drive, then crossed the falls at the bottom, and continued the track to mountain road, and he looped back... More

The falls were beautiful and definitely worth the walk - if only we were in sneakers and not jandals! Because we were in jandals we slipped and slide down the stairs as well as had mud all pup the backs of our legs - so I recommend to wear sneakers. The falls themself were awesome and in total the walking... More

I have been to these falls many times as I have grown up in the area. The walk there is tough depending if you walk down from Scenic Road or up from Mountain Road. The whole track can take around 1.5 hours depending on how fast you wish to go. It's best enjoyed on a sunny day with a little... More

My friend took me to Fairy Falls for a scenic hike. It was a little drizzly but not cold but the weather didn't really matter and you are under tropical cover much of the time. The hike took 1.5 to 2 hours there and back. There is parking. First half is all downhill and there are slot of steps all... More

The first part of the walk was an easy bush walk but then came the steps. Lots of steep and, after a rainy day, slippery steps going down to the bottom of the waterfall. The way up was very painful (a good workout though), especially for my husband who was carrying our 8 month old daughter in the baby bjorn.... More

We parked off Mountain Road and took the track that leads to the base of the falls. The falls go up several levels, getting more impressive as you climb. The stairs up the falls are the hardest - the rest of the track is fairly easy and it is well maintained. There are a few Kauri along the walk and... More

A very enjoyable Valentines Day walk with the family. A 40 minute drive from Auckland City on a windy road but beautiful views to the city. Most of the walk is under foliage cover providing great protection from the sun and heat. A good gravel track with many wooden steps make the track easy to descend to the series of... More

Beautiful scenic hike ... Follow directions on Google to find. There are a few different walks around but we took the quickest route in and out and only took us approximately 1hr 15mins. The walk in is easy with LOTS of steps which does make the trek out a lot harder but well worth it. The Falls are beautiful.

The walk down to the falls were pretty and not too long, about 40 mins. The falls itself were smaller (as it is summer)but sill quite beautiful, and the rain forest made for a wonderful backdrop. The walk back up was exhorting and tough, and took about 45min. It is a pretty steep walk, and required proper shoes! But very... More
