As a small group of birdwatchers we travelled here primarily for one bird - the rare Brown-eared Pheasant, which is relatively common as it is fed by the Buddhists and not hunted in the immediate area. This Zen Buddist monastery is really quite impressive, with a welcoming and imposing wooden pogoda at the entrance, and has been destroyed and re-built... More
