8 km out and back, good gravel footing. Situated south of Vancouver and west of the airport, some totally different views of the Gulf Islands, planes ascending, and the mouth of the Fraser River. Saw an eagle from about twenty feet.

10 of us went on a blustery walk out on the Iona park breakwall. The sun came out to welcome us, the wind was whipping up the waves. Eagles and Herons all around. 45min up and 45min back. Felt like a Tofino storm watch without...More

Between the wildlife (particularly the birds!), the opportunities for long walks, the exotic airliners from far-flung locales, and the beautiful views, this is one of our favorite places to be in Vancouver.

Catch the shuttle to the South Terminal and walk along the river there and stop at the Flying Beaver Pub for some good food and then take the shuttle back
