Enjoy a captain's-eye view of Georgian Bay's 30,000 Islands Biosphere Reserve aboard the 550-passenger Island Queen. We offer two and three-hour sightseeing cruises that bring passengers surprisingly up-close to the pristine beauty of Georgian Bay's remote island wilderness and the rustic charm of its grand summer cottages. Follow in the wake of early explorers as the captain steers the ship past granite shoals into narrow channels and shallow waterways exploring out-of-the-way places within the world's largest freshwater archipelago. The Island Queen is fully equipped with comfortable inside and outside seating, large viewing windows, outside observation decks, wheelchair accessible washrooms, a snack bar, a full commentary and heat for our fall colour cruises. Cruises depart daily from June 1 to mid-October each year from the town dock in Parry Sound, Ontario.

I think this area on Lake Huron is called "30,000 islands," and indeed it seemed like no exaggeration. We mostly stayed inside for the cruise, but there were only about 20 people on the boat, so you could sit anyplace you pleased, including on the...More

Thanks so much for your review. We're glad you enjoyed the cruise. We've had lots of rain this week so yes, the ship has been unusually light on passengers at times! Thanks again.

We took our parents on the cruise ... the day was gorgeous, the sun was shining, and as we went through the water between the rock cliffs there were people jumping into the water ... and we even saw a fellow on his dock playing...More

Thank you so much for sharing this review! Cottage owners seem to like to play all sorts of instruments as we pass their docks. Bag pipes, fiddles - you name it and we've seen it! Thanks again.

Stunning scenery, fresh air and sunshine, friendly, funny, professional crew, and ability to bring our little dog on (in his soft sided carrier), made this an enjoyable summer day out.

We made the trip on a fine sunny afternoon in late September. We chose the open air deck at the top. The ship was purpose built with a very shallow draft and is almost silent - absolutely no engine noise. It glides serenely through narrow...More
