Explore Western Canada's largest collection of heritage locomotives and railcars. The West Railway Heritage Park experience starts with free parking, washrooms, ticketing/guest service and a Gift Shop. Your self-guided tour will take you back in time through vintage railcars dating to 1890, building from the early 20th century and artifacts exhibits but also steam and diesel locomotives from the mid-century era. In addition to our outdoor experiences, the newly build 21000sq-ft Roundhouse can provide opportunities for events, conferences and is the home of one of BC best heritage steam locomotive the 2860 ROYAL HUDSON. Also available is our most popular attraction: the MINI RAIL. Take a 20 mins ride on our 3 km long tracks around the site, the whole family will love it!! The Heritage Park is the perfect place to wonder around beautiful restored heritage pieces for individuals, family and groups of all sizes and ages

Stopped in but because of snow they were only partly open and didn't charge but asked that you leave a donation. Have been there in Summer and it is very interesting but again because of the snow activities were limited to Round House, Gift Shop and some open passenger cars but we were allowed to roam freely if we wanted... I'll credit this place for partially turning me into a real train buff. There is a huge collection of equipment here from many different road names. The website does not do the collection or the buildings justice as the buildings on this site are also highlights of the museum. Unfortunately my younger kids did not find the collection as interesting... More

This year we attended the Christmas Polar Express Train. The whole group of our family of 11 enjoyed the train ride and entertainment that was provided. Highly recommend this Christmas special.Would like to attend probably every second year.

Our family enjoyed a magical experience at the Polar Express. The kids wore their pj's and held their golden tickets with excitement. The onboard experience left them laughing and smiling the whole time! The actors running through the cars were fun as well as the hobo. The cookie and hot chocolate hit the spot. We then went on to enjoy... More

Our family of 5 loved this!! From sitting aboard the train, to the golden train ticket, to the cookies and hot chocolate, this won my family over. The staff were all very friendly and made the experience just like the movie. At the North Pole we visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus, decorated gingerbread cookies and rode a miniature train.... We arrived in Squamish on a very snowy Saturday evening for our adventure to the North Pole with our 5 year old granddaughter. The experience was AMAZING! We were in between trains so the 'North Pole' was pretty empty when we arrived & the experience was wonderful!! On Sunday our granddaughter said, "I have never been to the North Pole... More

It took an hour to get there. Beautiful drive with scenery and it was snowing. Train behind schedule. Very little xmas decorations on it or inside. Was given a cookie right away. Had 3 actors come down aisle and made kids giggle. Train drove about 1 half mile. Then returned to go back to station. Given a hot chocolate on... More

I wanted to love this so much. Our family of 4 (kids aged 3 and 1) went up for the 2pm ride. We got on the train- so excited, the train went forward at 10km/h, we got cookie, the train went backward 10km/h, we got a hot chocolate, we sang Christmas carols, and we got off. THATS IT! No lights... More

We just returned home from a magical day riding the Polar Express to the North Pole! Everything was wonderful! We really enjoyed exploring all of the things outside before boarding the train - seeing the hobo, Billy's house, listening to Christmas carollers, and checking out some of the trains in the yard. Boarding the train was very smooth, and the... More

Our son is a train fan and we decided to make the trip for his birthday treat this year. We were not disappointed. The train ride was a lot of fun, including a cup of hot chocolate and delicious cookie. The roundhouse was decked out festively. Our children were so happy they want to make the trip up from Vancouver... More
