This is an excellent museum for those interested in Canadiana and ingenuity. The vintage movies and stories about tunnelling though the Rockies, dealing with weather (so much snow!!) and the creativity and teamwork required to make our rail system work were extremely engaging. The is...More

This rail museum has two huge indoor exhibits, stairs, and lots of smaller items including a train driving simulator. There is also an outdoor rolling stock yard.

We spent all morning here working our way round the exhibits and watching the films. The rolling stock outside isn't up to much but indoors you'll find a very illuminating presentation of how the Canadian Pacific was built through the Columbia Mountains. The old film...More

Whilst not particularly extensive, this museum is well put together and covers the early era of rail in the Rockies, and in particular the exceptional challenges faced by these pioneers.

It was bigger and more impressive than I imagined. Worth a stop! It had a lot of information about the rail road with interactive train stimulator videos etc.

Our 6 year old son loves trains so he really enjoyed this. The best part was going inside the passenger car. Very well done and worth a visit.
