We came during a very low tide and had a great time wandering the tide pools looking for crabs, sand dollars, clams and shrimp. The water edge was almost a kilometer from shore at low tide.

Minutes away from the resort drive in Parksville. It is currently under renovation. The kids were only here to play with the sand but it was warm enough that about two dozen people were swimming at the beach.

Love love love Rathtrevor! Amazing place to visit in the summer with the tide in or out. Highly recommend for families with children.

Before planning a trip to Parksville it is good to check the tide schedule ( dates and times) and time it such that you can experience the lowest and highest tide.

Beautiful well kept park. The beach is incredible to walk when the tide is out. You can walk hundreds of feet out to the water's edge and in the little pools left behind when the tide goes out there are all kinds of small marine...More

You must visit! Super beautiful huge, beaches that stretch out for kilometres (it seems). Views of the Mainland mountains. The beach is perfect for relaxing, walking, and discovering critters, crabs, and shells. Perfect for kids and all ages. Great picnic area too!

Nice beach worth checking out while in Parksville. Best to check the tide schedule before you go. During low tide you can walk out quite a ways to explore the beach. Campground looks nice though we didn't stay there.

Neat to walk out at low tide, but it's pretty stinky. Just be prepared! Good walking trails but not for dogs.

Firewood is about $8 for a small bundle, enough maybe for one evening.
