I have visited Nelson many, many times over the past 40 years. It has evolved and changed with the times, but has always attracted those who looked for an alternative in quality of life. Baker Street has always reflected this trend. Many young and their families have migrated their to create their life together in their awesome natural setting. It... More

Nelson is a unique place, with the mountains on either side and a street full of shops with interesting people. Known for it's unique culture, Nelson is a great place for people watching with a coffee in hand. Since we stayed within walking distance to downtown there was no issue with parking as other's have said, and we were there... More

This street is the business card of the city. Very colorful - small interesting shops, cozy restaurants. Old buildings and colorful people. You can wander for hours. I love such cities. Cozy, calm, friendly.

Great shops and outlets but parking is a major problem. Retailers use the parking stalls and repeatedly plug the meters all day long so it's hard to find a place to park. It's only going to get worse as summer is coming and the on street patios will bout out into the parking spots making it even harder to find... More

Presently in Nelson and absolutely love Baker St! Reminds me of growing up in Sudbury Ontario when the downtown was bustling with people in and out of the stores, before the establishment of males. Even though it has been raining, it is wonderful to walk the street and check out the variety of shops from hiking/sporting suppliers to cafes, restaurants... More

We walked up and down both sides of the street looking in all the little boutiques and stopping to eat at a Chinese food restaurant whose name I don't remember :)

I love Baker Street; the buildings, bistros, cafes, fresh food, boutiques, bookstores and all the outdoor stores. My son was thrilled to put money down on a bike at one of the shops when we were there last week. The weather was cold and rainy, but I'll come back when the sun's shining. Nelson is one of my favorite towns.... More
