The Othello Tunnels near Hope is a walk along a former rail road track. The tunnels are moderately impressive but the best part is the river gorge that runs along side, and under the track. The walls are very high and just about vertical. The...More

The place is a fairly easy walk through several dark tunnels and across bridges, with spectacular views of the Coquihalla Canyon. There are also many signs scattered about that tell you about the history of the railway tunnels, which were interesting to learn about.

Nice short walk through some of Canada's greatest history! The tunnels are spectacular but the views are even better. A great way to kill a couple hours!

The Othello Tunnels are an amazing feat of engineering, especially when considering that they were built over 100 years ago! It was an easy walk from the parking lot to the tunnels, and the beauty of the Coquihalla River made it especially enjoyable. This is...More

It'd sn easy walk to the tunnels. Originally built as railway tunnels but now disused. However the views of the raging river are well worth the walk. Easy wslk for kids too. Use your phone torch for extra light of you need.

These tunnels are well worth a visit. Not only for their historic status but also this was the site of the Rambo: First Blood movie. The separation between the two tunnels is the sight of the memorable scene where the helicopter was used to shoot...More

This was our first stop in Canada and I'm glad we went. The short walk to the tunnels was pretty and the river was fierce! All rivers were running high, so we appreciated the engineering of these tunnels and bridges even more. A flashlight would...More

The tunnels are 'officially' closed for the winter (not sure of the exact months) but if you're adventurous, the left side of the first gate has a fairly easy climb around (done it).

Yes this is a gentle walk, the terrain can be a bit rough just loose gravel, probably easier with a stroller than a regular wheelchair... it is also quite dark in one of the tunnels!
