Lovely little campground near Hope, BC, Canada
Jul 2020
We stayed here for a weekend break from Vancouver, it's a nice little campground off the beaten track. It's quite rustic, only pit toilets, but the sites were well kept and fairly private. The trail by the lake wasn't that great, it sort of narrowed down to nothing and was quite overgrown. The lake itself was freezing cold, too cold for swimming, we jumped in for about 30 seconds just to wash the day's grime away. We did a day hike nearby which was fantastic, called the Hope Lookout Trail. It was a bit steep but was well maintained and had great views out over Hope and the valley.

Beautiful setting, 5 min from Hope, BC
Jul 2020
Driven past many times but never stayed until now. What a pleasant surprise. A friend booked a double site (# 24 & 25) which was perfectly located from the boat launch, WC'S and water. a little sunny in the morning (#22 & 23 would have been better) but cooled off nicely later in the day for a nice evening sleep. Very quite area and attended by park officials frequently. Highly recommended.

Calm lake with misty mountains
Aug 2019 • Couples
We camped in site #20 which seemed to be the most private in the trees. No lake front sites, but the park is small, so the lake is never far away. Great for paddle boarding in the calm waters. Views are excellent. Water is chilly.

We drove 10km down the FSR past the campground to Eaton lake trailhead. Excellent hike with over 900m elevation gain to another beautiful lakeside backcountry campsite.

As someone that enjoys the Fall version of camping I found Silver Lake to be a great place to set up for a few days. The staff were friendly and during one of the nights I was one of only a handful of campers in a park that holds 24 (individual sites). The surrounding trails, river, trails and paths are great and easy to follow.

Definitely worth the stay.

Wood: $10/bundle or 3 for $25...might be worth checking local sources before buying from site

A beautiful place. Nice staff.
Worst camping experience ever.
Someone decided to stay an extra night in the space we pre booked 3 months in advance. We spent the day waiting for them to arrive back at camp so we could finally set up. 830pm when they finally arrive back they refuse to move and we have to set up in the dark at a spot that’s not the one with our name on it that we paid for. No park ranger to ask them to move.
Listen maybe it was the going on 30 hours no sleep. Or missing an entire day of our very special 2 day trip being displaced and fraustrated but I think we deserve a refund. We played by the rules.
I don’t think I’d come back here based on this experience. It’s beautiful but there are a lot of places just as nice .

Good transparent and peaceful lake
Jul 2018 • Couples
Excellent alternative to camp or simply stop for the day. Not as many people as you will find closer to Vancouver. Water is clear and transparent. Bring your boat!!!

Nice, Peaceful little retreat

Although part of the drive is on a gravel road, it is well worth the time to take this drive. It is peaceful on the lake - anglers - there is a catch and release system in place here. The scenery along the drive to the lake is quite spectacular.

This is another bc parks and is under reservation system . Here you can camp by either tents trailers. Swimming and fishing is there for your pleasure. Watch out for wood ticks hiding in the grasses ready to jump on it for a meal. Be bear aware. You are in bear country so respect their home.
