Kicking Horse has attracted rave reviews after just seven seasons for its awesome vertical, deep powder and spectacular terrain mix. With an express gondola accessing over 4100 ft (1260m) of vertical, you’re bound to ski and ride an impressive feat of terrain comparable to only that of heli-skiing. Coupled with summer activities such as mountain biking, wildlife education, and alpine sightseeing, this is a place where the stories are almost too tall to believe.

Victoria Day long weekend brought my young family to Golden. Visiting the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort was suggested to us. The website said restaurant at top of Gondola would be open until 4 PM on the Holiday Monday. Upon arrival, around 3 PM, I was informed the gondola was "closed but would re-open on May 27th". A lot of good... More

Boo Bear at kicking horse mountain was great. It's a large facility for the grizzly bear to roam. Guides are very knowledgeable. Boo walks along the fence with us, so we get lots of good viewing and pictures. Great for the whole family. Great view of Golden from the mountain as well. No skiing in September. Was a small outdoor... More

I have been living in Golden and skiing Kicking Horse for 6 years now, at first I tought "wow this is a great mountain"! But as time goes I realized that lots of things are wrong with this place, and dramaticly lost interest in skiing there, the mountain itself is great, but having the longest vertical drop is not necessarily... Kicking Horse doesn't have much terrain for beginners or intermediates. If you're an advanced or expert skier, you'll love it. It's only four lifts but those lifts serve a huge amount of terrains. The biggest impression was steep. The very, very bottom of the mountain and an upper intermediate are low angle. But everything else is steep. The steeper intermediate... More

Could ski very well before but definitely improved after 3 weeks on this mountain. Got some great powder and nice groomed runs. Absolutely gorgeous vista which takes your breath away. Would love to get back in the summer!

Great times at Kicking Horse! What a place! Steep, deep, and not crowded, a skiers dream! I didn't have to wait in line very long and I was able to shred with my buddies and hit all the goods. Hiking up to T-1 and T-2 was incredible!

I really enjoyed my experience at the Kicking Horse Mountain resort. This was the first time that I skied here. I usually prefer skiing on blue runs and seemed to be able to find my way down the hill from the top of the Gondola on runs that I felt comfortable with. The views are spectacular. I suspect that if you... More

Time of year and skier ability play a large part for this hill. Most retain is for more advanced skiers. Though this may be due to the weather conditions being overcast with hard, icy snow and steep terrain. Another time or earlier in the season maybe would have had a better experience. But for young children that are moderate skiers.... More
