Deep in the Canadian Badlands, a location famous for its prehistoric attractions, lies a hidden valley where the events of a not-so-distant past echo, a place where ancient Israel is reborn and you can experience, "the greatest story ever told." The 14,000 who come each July are moved to laughter and tears by the dramatic portrayal of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This was my first passion play, and i was incredibly impressed. The performance was lovely and high quality, with the cast reciting the entire book of John to tell their story. I found it to be quite powerful and the setting to be terrific.

We came a bit too early in the year for the play but the site was open and it was a stunning day so we went in and took some photos. Beautiful. So grand in scale it makes you feel so tiny. 300+ actors and running for 23 yrs. Go see and get to go and see the play too...... More

The Canadian Badlands Passion Play is performed by great actors and occurs in a natural amphitheatre. The acting is always great and because there is audience participation (of sorts) it feels like the audience is part of the play. It is quite amazing!!

Seeing the gospel acted out in the backdrop of the badlands was amazing. Brings a whole new dimension to the story. Be sure to check the weather before you go so you can be prepared and bring a cushion as you sit on wooden benches.

we drove 6 hours to see this play and it was worth every kilometre! the play is done in the badlands and they use all the hills around the stage as part of their setting; The story line is awesome and I will see it again!

My mom and I went to this our first night in Drumheller and we were absolutely astounded. The amphitheatre was huge and the set was very impressive. We were seated near the crucifixion which I thought was the better end to be seated on honestly. We were in the front row as well. The seats are hard to sit on... More

The Badlands Passion Play is an experience not to be missed. This year was the first year of the new script and yes, there were some technical difficulties and there is some polishing to be done but believe me the Directors won't rest until it is as profound and inspiring as the 2015 show. The cast (mostly made up of... More

Yesterday we went to our first Badlands Passion Play in Drumhellar. This is not just a play or a performance, this is an EXPERIENCE! Oh my goodness, the stage was in the setting of the Badlands hills and it was surreal to see angels and demons on their tops at various locations and stages of the play, as well as... More
