We were the only ones there at the time, I didn't walk over because I was too scared but the kids had fun!

There is a free car park in front of the bridge and minimal walking to it. A good view along the river and the far side was interesting too. The history of the bridge and area well signed. A long suspension bridge as such we...More

Although I hate heights, I walked all the way across this bridge on a windy day. It was scary, but a really neat bridge. Once across there are nice hiking paths and on the other side (parking lot) some picnic tables and washrooms.

A short suspension bridge across the Red Deer River. Well maintained and quite stable. Nothing on either side to see, really, but worth the short diversion off the highway.

This bridge was very cool. Got to walk across the Red Deer River. Was very windy but very cool. Seems like people are putting locks on the fencing along the walk. Very cool

This is just one of the lovely pieces of our Canadian history that has been preserved for our enjoyment. It is such a well built suspension bridge, and it has been looked after, so that everyone may cross the river and experience it.

I imagine it would still be safe to go on the bridge but I would not venture past it on the other side. The metal will likely be slippery so I would advise caution.
