I have been in many old time stores, Forts, etc in the West of Canada, but i have never been in one as magnificent as this one! Every bit of the store was interesting, and well preserved. It brought back many memories for my husband about life on the farm. I loved the old machines, filing cabinets, cannisters, boxes, clothing.... More

Nice general store filled with old objects and stories. Passionate owners make the past come back alive. Not hip, not moderne but very enjoyable when you take some time to imagine what the past was like.

Staff and owners were very friendly. Neat history of cod fishing in the region. Some great information and exhibits. A little expensive considering size of the site but understandable as they likely don't get huge crowds. Worthwhile if you are in the vicinity.

A guided tour by the original founder's grandson can really bring a historic site to life. It was very interesting to hear the story of the General Store from the family's viewpoint.

The tour was only available in French so we paid the lower fee for the self guided tour. However, the owner (son of the last actual store owner) came and spent time with my husband and I and explained a number of the artifacts. You can really get a sense of the passion he has with preserving this part of... More

We visited the warehouse in the morning, were the first visitors. The owner arrived just as we stood in front of the closed door and let us in ahead of time. As in our group of 4 people we had 2 who do not speak French at all, we could not take the guided tour, but paid a lower entry... More

It is simply astonishing to see how a few creative minds can bring an unassuming museum to life. When you step through the doors of this nicely restored General Store, you enter a different world, a world of history and entertainment. The descendants of the former owners not only know how to weave interesting, funny and charming stories with an... More

Very instructive Historic General Store (1928). We have visited this historic place during our Gaspesia Tour in August 2014. We learned many things that were sold during this period of time, i.e. medical drugs, washing soap, etc. etc..
