Mara Provincial Park is close to Orillia at the north end of Lake Simcoe on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Most of the campsites are large and many are grassed, with moderate to full shade. With the lovely canopy of trees, it's a great spot in hot summer weather. This park greatest asset is its fabulous beach with many picnic tables, BBQ"s... More

Their is something magical about walking in these amazing woods with your dog. Just don't do it from Victoria Day until after Labour day and please pick up after poochie. This is one of my favorite places to come and feel the majesty of the woods.

We recently moved around the corner. Did not even know about the park. Took our bikes and travelled through. We were pleasantly surprised. The beach was large and the water clear. The camping area was filled. Certainly seemed a favourite spot. Going back this summer for a group picnic.

Mara Provincial Park/Beach is a decent option for a day at the beach with the family. Here are some info/tips on Mara: -- Small beach compared to Wasaga/Sauble ... so getting there early is key if yiu want a good spot ... lots of shade from mature trees, so lots of people hang their hammocks to relax ... -- Lots... We did not camp but this was a busy little place. Not a huge campground but everyone seemed to be having a good time. Most lots seemed big with fair privacy. The beach is not a bad size but very busy. Lots of families with small kids. However, unlike many other provincial parks this one is minutes away from restaurants,... More

I didn't expect this to be such an awesome Provincial Park! Not only is it 1.15 hrs from my home town of Brooklin...large wooded camp site (we had site #32 and fits our trailer and more!)...clean showers/washrooms (strong shower pressure!!!)...sandy clean shallow beach...Walmart/Timmie/Wild Wing/McDonald's/Casino Rama ETC all close by. Will come back again! Great time!!!

The lots are nice and big and somewhat private. The showers were very cold and not very clean. Laundry facilities would be nice for travellers from far away

We love this beach. We get to it by boat and anchor within 20 ft and walk to shore on a clean sandy bottom. The beach is a wonderful play ground and we bring our young grand kids whenever they visit. We also like to take a break from the water and walk miles inland through wondrous tall pines, maples, oaks... More

Price matches location rather than park itself (got to love cottage country.) There isn't much to Mara other than the beach. The beach is nice enough, and was clean. The size means that you're quite packed, and with a lot of young families expect a lot of yelling after children. Overall an enjoyable trip, but not of any considerable higher... More
