About
Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park straddles the scenic Little Qualicum River, west of Parksville, where impressive waterfalls cascade and plummet down a rocky gorge in a beautiful forest setting. Perhaps the most magnificent park on Vancouver Island, Little Qualicum Falls incorporates the entire southern shore of Cameron Lake, adjacent to MacMillan Provincial Park and the awesome Cathedral Grove Rainforest. Cameron Lake is bordered by steep mountains: Mt. Wesley to the north and Mt. Arrowsmith to the south.

We visited the upper falls as we were too short of time to also visit the lower falls. The trails are excellent and take you close to the gorge through magnificent trees, mostly Douglas Firs, covered with amazing mosses. The falls provide a fabulous view and thunderous noise. We loved our time there and wish we could have stayed longer.

A 2km walking loop gives great views of both the Upper and Lower Falls. We take the route to the left from the parking lot, taking us on a flat walk to see the Upper Falls. We cross a bridge and start heading down to the Lower Falls, stopping at the Viewpoint - there are numerous viewing spots along the way. The paths are well maintained but there were some step, uneven sections on the way down. At the bottom there is another bridge to cross with some steep steps heading back up to the parking lot. The waterfalls are lovely and the walk wasn’t too strenuous. We spent 45 minutes in this beautiful spot. I would recomment stopping to admire the falls.

Highway 4 was closed due to forest fires when we were there, but we were just able to get to this park! This made it very quiet in the park. We took a short walk to the upper and lower falls (1.3 km). The route is indicated with signs and after that you can't go wrong. But a tip for the whole of Canada: My Trails app then you have all the routes at hand (make them available offline because it is not available everywhere).

We went to the upper falls first and walked the loop to the lower falls. If you prefer to walk down stairs, do it the other way around.

Nature is beautiful. Well groomed trails that take you from the top to bottom of these amazing falls. Takes roughly an hour to take in the entire falls area. Would highly recommend an afternoon seeing these falls.

We had a stopover atthe falls and walked the path around the falls. Easy going and a beautiful view. The water was inviting us for a cool refresh, but it was not allowed, so we kept out. Great place for young and old

The park has great walking trails and not to strenuous. Well maintained and peaceful. The upper and lower falls were quite spectacular and just had enough water flow to highlight their beauty. We spent about an hour walking the trails. Highly recommend this park.

While driving between Victoria and Tofino, we stopped at this lovely provincial park for a short hike. The parking payment system was confusing, but friendly locals helped us out. We loved the beautiful waterfalls and easy hiking paths. It is easy to miss, but definitely worth the stop if you have a little time.

Just decided to stop in for a quick look, and am so glad I did! The falls are absolutely breathtaking, and peering down the canyons takes your breath away! I loved the loop trail, and actually RAN it, as it seemed to invite running! It wasn't on our agenda to stop here, but I am so glad we did!

Nice walk, nice falls, but came back to my car on boxing day with my window shattered my belongings missing. 12.30/12.45 in the afternoon in a busy parking lot. Car rental shops were shut because of the holidays so had to spend the rest of my time on the island with a plastic window. There were 2 other broken piles of glass in the parking lot too. Police didn't seem surprised, maybe time for surveillance? Sadly, will never return and will warn others not to stop.

Happened across this as we traveled from Port Alberni north. The trails are well maintained and make for fairly easy walking. There are at least 3 bridges over the long cascading river. The falls are surrounded by a wonderful variety of trees. The only fee is for parking, except the machines were not working properly the day we were there. If you enjoy flowing water this is worth the visit.
