A walk in the park

A nice walk on a sunny afternoon. This was recommended to us by the locals as a place to visit and to have a quick dip. well we visited, but no dip.

Beautiful clean water. Variety of depths for wading and swimming. Parents need to keep an eye on kids and caution on the cliffs is essential; but use common sense and care and you have a perfect sunny swimming spot.

We stumbled upon one of the potholes by accident! We were exploring the area by car on a daytrip from Victoria... saw a sign decided to check it out. A short hike lead to a beautiful waterfall and a gorgeous clear Sinkhole. stunning!

The Potholes are set in a provincial park and are absolutely free. Bring a picnic basket and lots of water in the summer and take the entire family for a great afternoon of swimming, absolutely free. Be careful, getting there can be a bit tricky on some of the rocks and pathways.

An easy trail that follows the river. Beautiful vistas of the river and rapids, surrounded by moss covered trees. Galloping goose trail is also in this area. A nice outing for all levels of fitness.

Unique swim spot. Fun for the family. It can be a bit crowded on hot days but it is a beautiful spot to spend a day.

It was a pretty place with a lot of water moving through. Also a pretty falls on the drive up. Be sure to stay in the designated viewing areas.

We enjoyed our short hike to the Sooke Potholes on the Sooke River. It was very scenic and we wished that we had had more time!

Visitor and locals love this place especially in the summer. Lovely trails meander through the forests. The sound of the cool refreshing water is ever present. The potholes are spectacular.
