Don't miss this natural wonder when visiting the area

A nice meal, beautiful scenery, and salmon in their natural habitat. What more can I say! Be sure to check out the falls.

Seeing the salmon from under the water is always neat. So is seeing them jumping up the ladder as you stand above the rising water on metal grates. Good for family's with kids.

We went to this exhibit while passing through GFW. The tour was very informative and the whole centre is a fascinating study in fish management. Our only disappointment was that the Salmon were not running when we were there. We were late in the season and I would recommend that anyone planning to come here do so during the run.... More

The Salmonid Interpretation Centre is located across the Exploits River from the old paper mill. The paper mill is currently under demolition, and, as a result of this work, it appears that structural changes are having to be made to the Centre. I managed to view the area from the overlook and noticed the vista had a great view of... More

Salmonid Interpretation Center is a product of a brilliant idea. A place for all who wants to learn the behavior of the Salmon and how do they reproduce. It is an avenue for everyone to be knowledgeable on how to make it sustainable all year round. The scenery would rather be more attractive if it is fully landscape, with nature... More

A wonderful educational site for a family visit. Showing how salmon reproduce and are aided in going upstream past the huge waterfalls. Neat demonstrations. Also a truly unique gift shop. A very scenic place to visit.

The staff were wonderful. My kids loved watching the falls and the fish. The staff allowed them under the rail as they were too small to see. I really recommend a visit!

A beautiful spot to stop. The exhibits are interesting, the scenery is excellent and the staff is friendly and full of knowledge. Great family adventure. As for the restaurant save your money. It's expensive, and the food is not anything to talk about. The seafood chowder I ordered was nothing more than Campbell's from a can and the portion sizes... More

The Salmonid Interpretation Center is beautifully situated, above the impressive Grand Falls. The Center tells the amazing story of the Atlantic Salmon's life cycle which represents the wonderful power of nature at its best. The Salmon Enhancement project taking place along the Exploits River is an immense effort of environmentally caring scientists to reintroduce the Atlantic Salmon to the river... More

This interpretive centre and the work done to build the fish ladder around the falls (and the old pulp and paper mill) is excellent. Tells the history of environmentally minded people in central Nfld, realizing they needed to assist the salmon in surviving the hydro dams, lumbering mills and logging operations that filled up the river with logs. Early morning... More
