We have camped for 20 plus years at Slave Lake. I totally disagree with the statement that there is usually always wind on this lake. We have stayed for a month at a time for 5 years in a row and we could go out fishing for at least 3 of those weeks without worrying about high wind. We love... More

We visited the dog beach in Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park on a sunny, warm September day by descending the many sturdy wooden stairs from the parking area, and found we had the entire place to ourselves! The lake water was clear and the sand was fine and plentiful, and there were lots of bits of driftwood to throw in... More

The lake is beautiful, and because it is off the beaten path, you have it all for yourself! We really enjoyed strolling along the beach for hours. Crystal clear water, golden sand beach, wildlife... A nature-lover's paradise. Yes, Banff and Lake Louise are wonderful. But is it too bad there are not more tourists discovering this wonderful place. Highly recommended.

The campground is clean, has power in loops A & B. Clean washrooms and showers. The beach is sandy and clean, and rugged. Highly recommended

Park offers a range of activities from hiking (cross-country skiing in the winter), camping, beach activities, & fishing. Seems like a hidden gem in Alberta. We were there over a gorgeous weekend in August, and despite perfect weather the beach & hiking paths were near-empty. If you'd like a peaceful getaway, Slave Lake offers a great option without the craziness... More

My family and I went out to kayak for the week and everything we looked at showed how wonderful the area is. It is beautiful out there for sure, but we were given limited paddling time on the water. When we arrived at Marten Beach, the waves were intense and made us wait to bring our kayaks down to the... More

Stayed here in July for 3 nights. The sites are well treed and private. My kids loved the beach and the swimming. The sand is endless and the water is clear. The swimming is perfect for kids because the water at the beach gets deep very gradually and a part from a few large rocks the bottom of the lake... More

What a beautiful park. Well maintained but kept as natural as possible. Easy access. If you go out on a boat though you must be careful as it is shallow and the winds can create huge waves quickly.

One can swim, walk in the shallow water or even fish. This lake offers so many opportunities for people to have fun and get outside in the fresh air. One can rent kayaks or canoes from two local establishments to try their skill or just kick back play in the water and sand.
