Visited the house, having read about it. Very well presented, absolutely stunning place to visit. Weather prevented us from looking round the grounds, but the house on its own was well worth the visit. The volunteers are enthusiastic & happy to help with any questions. Loads of information dotted around the various rooms. Highly recommend.

My second visit. The photography issue has been mentioned already, and unfortunately it has not been sorted. After having been snapped at by the volunteer when I took a photograph, I pointed out that I was unaware that photography was forbidden, not having seen any signs about it. On explaining I had not seen any signs, "There is a sign!"... More

not large by stately home standards, however it was built in the 17th century, and in is a commanding position up on the south downs. I has a real family feeling with lovely rooms set out in the period, the only son in Georgian society was noted for his "house parties" including the then prince regent and emma hart who... More

I would highly recommend a visit. It's definitely worth watching the 10 minute video near the shop before visiting the house. We had a half hour tour and it was really informative. The tour covered 3 rooms on the ground floor as you can't go upstairs. The house was opened for free flowing visitors at 12:30 but we didn't do... More

As part of our NT membership we decided to visit Uppark to see if it was worth returning for a longer visit in the summer months. In our opinion, there isn't enough to keep children interested. The grounds are okay, if not spectacular. The house itself is interesting, especially the below stairs section. The free guided tour was interesting and... More

Visited Uppark House on a Saturday morning. Sadly it was very foggy so we missed out on the beautiful views from the house and grounds. We went on the taster tour which lasted about 20 mins and was very interesting. We very much enjoyed the below stairs part of the house which was very atmospheric. Throughout our visit the staff... Had a quick visit here. It was nice to wander around the house. The grounds were ok but not spectacular. Visited as part of our national trust membership. Probably would've been disappointed if we had paid specifically for entry here.

We were travelling to an overnight hotel stop and had the afternoon to pass. Having long wanted to visit Uppark, it seemed an ideal place to break our journey. We first had a light lunch in the restaurant; 'proper' mushroom soup for me and a jacket potato with cheese for my wife. Unfortunately the house wasn't open but we enjoyed... More

This is a great place to go. We did the family trail which my 2 children enjoyed. Big open spaces so the kids ran about and there was a box of bats and balls which they played with. The house was closed but there are underground tunnels from the cafe to the servants quarters. There are various rooms and was... More

Really interesting! Wonderful location, history and amenities. We are eager to return in the Spring when the entire house is open to the public.
