How does one begin to describe a too-short visit to part of the largest international UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its Visitor Centre. Half a day can easily be spent at the latter, and two short hikes another day. The Rock Glacier climb, 40 km away, is over-rated, but a picnic lunch at Kathleen Lake is worthwhile. Canada's tallest peak,... More

Wow, I fell in love with this Nat'l park. Too bad we could not spend more time. Home of the highest peaks in Canada, some amazing glaciers and great hiking. I wish I could go back soon!

I loved the park, the vistas are great. I would love to come back to this park with more time and to do some overnight visits. It was a little challenging with a rental car to keep the kilometres under the allowed - and to get to the different trails. So many trails, such great views. Highly recommended- also recommend... We visited this park in September, when the fall colours were at their peak. The scenery was spectacular and we enjoyed hiking some of the trails and seeing the beautiful scenery by car as we drove along the edges of the park. But this park is huge and contains the world's largest non-polar Icefields. The best way to see this... More

As a couple who enjoy hiking in the backcountry of national parks, Kluane did not disappoint. The remote nature of this park is a plus if you prefer small numbers of people to contend with on the trails and campsites. The scenery is stunning but the weather can and does change in a moments notice. It is a large park... More

Visited Kluane Park just this past weekend (mid-September) on a short day trip from Whitehorse. Due to limited time, we stopped at Haines Junction Parks Canada Visitor Centre for some information and did only two short hikes, both of which we thought were excellent. We decided to drive towards Haines, AK, and therefore stopped for a while at Kathleen Lake... More

Hike up the Sheep trail for amazing views and see the Dall Sheep! Breathtaking mountain views! The hike is steep but so worth the effort; don't miss it while at Kluane Lake: the trail begins with a short drive near the ranger station where you park at the trail head.
