Worth returning

I've been there in the winter and the summer. Lots to see and do. Close to Haines Junction and a short drive to White Horse.

This lake had soo much activities to do even my 15 and 18 year old children loved this and usually they dont want to do alot of activities. There were alot of spots on the shore to set up our umbrella chairs and enough room to play in the sand a bit.

This is a very nice stop. Unfortunately, the day my husband and I were there it turned rainy and cold. However, we had about 30 minutes or so of fair weather to take some photographs and admire the scenery. We noticed a group of hikers that looked as if they might be hiking up to the cirque. Very nice stop.

The lake and surrounding area is just beautiful! Lots of good interpretation with interesting facts on the history and geology of the area. I stayed in the campground, and loved it! Good facilities. Looks like they even provide ranger talks. Would recommend!

We visited towards the end of the season. It was windy but clear. The lake is remarkably blue when viewed from King's Throne, a hike of 5km and 1800 ft elevation gain. I can see why this place would be an excellent place to stop and have a picnic or just a short walk around the lake to experience the... More

Beautiful lake short drive (approx. 25km) from Haines Junction on the road to Haines, Alaska. Well signposted and easily reachable from the main road, you won't miss it. There's a campground as well a separate day use area located at the very shore of the lake (includes a boat launch and picnic tables). There's couple of trails starting from here,... More

Amazing view from the day use area. Wish we had more time for hiking. The Kings Throne trail reported to be an amazing hike and view.

Beauty at its finest. The Kings throne walk is a must even though it is a strenuous hike. The reward at the end is worth the effort.

National park campsite was beautiful!!! Nice big sites, good condition tables, clean bathrooms, lots of firewood. Very reason all price @$15.70. Katarina was our host and her presentation on the history of the park was so very very well done. Entertaining and informative. Love love love this beautiful spot.

Pretty lake and worth the trip off the main highway. Easy boardwalk trail for a quick look at some of the lake.
