A real gem, all fish and creatures on display are locally caught, and released after being guests of the aquarium. The knowledgeable staff happily answered my many questions.

Brought my 2 year old daughter and she was in heaven. The touch pools are awesome. Great views of the harbour and saw an otter and seal just outside the windows. Totally recommend to anyone.

What a novel idea that attendees are allowed to handle some of the sealife in the open air tanks. We also loved the idea that the creatures are captured for only a short time for educational purposes and then released back into the wild.

Best thing to do in Uculete, rain or shine. Knowledgeable hosts and touch tanks make this a great place to learn about the local environment.

The aquarium is really worth the time to experience it. The best part is that the folks working there know their stuff and they really seem to enjoy sharing their expertise with others. An excellent collection of local specimens with a number of touch tanks....More

Stopped in last week while visiting the area. It's a small aquarium, but I found the staff to be very informative about what they have on hand in their tanks. The species are all apparently local, and most are visitors on a 'kidnap and release'...More

Found the aquarium on a rainy morning and had a super time going through it. Loved the catch and release process in place, every fall all living creatures are released back into the ocean. Staff was very friendly and informative. Thanks for a great visit.

The Ucluelet Aquarium is closed seasonally for general maintenance and re-collection of our species. We close in December and re-open again in mid March.

No pets allowed inside, unfortunately. Too easy for them to snag some fresh seafood from the open, low level aquariums.
