Overview
More
The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

I hope they continue to extend this trail. Nothing quite like it in the world. The meeting of wind, water and rocks on a tree-lined trail is perfect.

The forest feels somewhat worldly - with hanging lichens and unusual shapes. Not a walk to be rushed, you often want to stop, look at the views etc. Wear trainers or something of that nature - I did see some people with prams (but it...More

No special equipment required to walk this trail, however not always clearly marked so a bit confusing at times. Loved the Lighthouse Loop. Enjoyable overall.

We did this route over 2 days with our daughter; the first was the circular walk round the lighthouse. The reason it took us longer is that there are plenty of trees to climb & wonderful viewing points. It took us a little longer than...More

We enjoyed the walk, and you must pick up a map at any visitor center, it shows you where you can park. Parking is limited and free, so be patient if they are full. The sad thing is all the land around the trail is...More

The wild pacific trail is a must to do if you are in Ucluelet. There are many entry points so you split it up into many shorter walks or do the whole trail all at once. The scenery changes around each corner and it is...More

A really nice hike. Well kept trail, beautiful trees on the way and great ocean views. Good to hear hear the familiar sound of the bouy in the background.

It was a bit tricky to find Lighthouse Loop trail. While there were signs saying "Wild Pacific Trail", we didn't see signs from the road that specifically indicated which trails were which. We ended up starting at Terrace Beach Resort, which is an easy landmark...More

Love this hike. Best to park at the end of the road by the light house. The view is just beautiful with rocks and crashing waves. My son found a calm place to fish for small fish.

Gorgeous, easy hike along the coast. It goes to the lighthouse. Lighthouse isn't anything special but the views along the trail are outstanding.

If you are short on time, the Lighthouse Loop is wonderful as it encapsulates a little bit of everything that the Trail has to offer in terms of scenery. The Artist Loops, on a different section of the Trail, provides... More
