This is where Methodism began the home of John and Charles Wesley their mother Suzanna and father Samuel. The guided tour is excellent and we had an excellent guide although I cannot remember his name but so knowledgeable The rectory was built in 1709 and...More

On arriving in Epworth the road signs say "Epworth the home of the Wesleys. " This is the actual home. The Old Rectory is on a journey taking the building back to recreate the 18th century feel to the house. Guided by a knowledgeable guide...More

Allow plenty of time for your visit, as we were in the house being shown round for over an hour. I loved this house and could move in tomorrow! Our knowledgable guide escorted us through every room, with stories about the Wesley family. I should...More

Interesting and insightful insights into Wesleys' background and upbringing. Guided tour takes about 90 minutes and ours was very pleasant and thorough. Also a little bookshop and garden area.

Worth a visit especially if you have an interest in Wesley as there is quite a lot about his life and the others in the family. Guides are excellent and even offered tea or coffee! Allow about an hour for a visit and make sure...More

Took visiting friends as we live locally and have never been. House is architecturally uninspiring, the guided tour was a dull affair. It may have been more interesting if I was a Methodist. That's it really, a largish old house but not stately or in...More
