If you have 2 vehicles or can arrange private pickup, this is a MUST hike. It is long but outstanding and I would do it again and again. Lakes, altitude, wild flowers.

Highly recommended challenging hike. Best to start from Cameron Lake - a shuttle is available to take you to Cameron Lake to start the 20km one-way trip back to town. Bring lots of water, bug spray and bear spray. We saw a bear pretty close...More

Started in village and got to Alderson Lake round trip in about 3.5 hours ( 15 km), but couldn't get further due to 2 meter snowdrifts covering trail to Carthew Lakes. Wonderful views at Alderson.

This 18 km + hike is for experienced hikers only, and requires a shuttle. Check the weather forecast and trail conditions with the parks information centre before going on this hike. Wear good hiking boots and clothing for unpredictable weather. Carthew summit gets very windy...More

This is a bit of a hike to do. I believe it was just over 20kms. It is a hike that you need to be dropped off at because it hikes from Cameron Lake to the townsite of Waterton just by Cameron Falls. Not recommended...More

Everyone is like blah blah Crypt Lake is the most beautiful hike in the park blah blah but OMG how is this trail overlooked. We did this hike on a rainy (sometimes hailing) day and it's beauty shined through with ease. Sometimes narrow at times...More

One of the very few likes I would do again! You need to be quite fit as the ascent is around 900m from Cameron lake and the total trail length is 19km. But the views are amazing and from Summit lake the trail just keeps...More

Carthew-Alderson is one of the three Waterton Triple Crown hikes. It takes about 6 to 8 hours depending on your speed and the weather conditions. You hike from Cameron Lake, one-way, back into town. The hike is of medium difficulty, but should only be attempted...More

We loved this hike! We took the first hiker shuttle from town and had an amazing day. The variety of breathtaking sites along the way was outstanding! It was tough, though. Not for the "flip-flop" crowd. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone afraid of heights...More
