Check the weather forecast before you head to Waterton Lakes National Park - the weather changes rapidly, and it can get very windy. If you plan to hike, wear broken in good walking shoes, layers of clothing plus food and water for the day. The Parks information centre can advise you on hiking options. One of the best is to... It's a one day tour from Calgary. The views were spectacular and absolutely beautiful. We visited the Prince of Wales Hotel along with Cameron Falls and Red Rock Canyon. We were told that it's windy most of time. It was windy that day, but We enjoyed the natural beauty very much.

Stunning lake created by glacier retreat. At the heart of both Waterton Lakes National Park (Canada) and the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park (Canada and the US), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Awe-inspiring. Main access is by Waterton Village. The area is apparently famous for the number and quality of hiking trails. We took the Waterton Shoreline Cruise (see separate reviews)... More

Worth visiting Waterton is an awesome ice climbing and photographers location with complete serenity and opportunities for solo experiences. I have played in Waterton during the fall and summer however January is simply put another great season. Plan accordingly and take advantage of the winter experience. You won't be disappointed.

The lake itself is beautiful. My husband and I went swimming in Emerald Bay. It has a very nice day use area complete with picnic tables. I will admit, it was a touch cold in the first week of June, but that didn't stop us. Though it did shorten our swim time. I think if you waited till July of... More

This lake straddles Canada and USA. It is so pristine clear formed by the retreat of glaciers centuries ago.

Come early and don't forget to bring foods and drinks that you may eat all day long. Foods and drinks are generally expensive within the village. There are so many things to do and so many things to see! If you come for a day, don't forget to go to red rock canyon. It's not far and you probably will... More

I went to Waterton with friends to see the area and do some hiking. The area is outstanding, the views spectacular and the hotel remarkable. The Prince of Wales Hotel is a remarkable piece of Canadian history. The tea served os great as is the bar and its great view. The town is interesting - largely a tourist town but... More

The visitors center suggested we take the boat tour and cruise the lake. It goes from Canada back into the United States and has absolutely beautiful views. We saw a bad eagle on one of the tree tops, which was a real treat for lots of people. Other times, there are other animals, this time no- but still very beautiful!... More

Parks Canada thought it was a good idea to close access to this key road to tax payers during the last major long weekend of the season. I was informed that if I wanted to go on this road to my planned destination that I would have to hire a local tour company! As they were the only ones with... More
