We stopped off to see the lake. There are loads of different carparks all around the lake. Some of them have public toilets and playgrounds for children. There is a well marked pretty flat 10k trail all around the lake which takes about 2-3 hours to walk. The path was in good condition and if it was dry you could... More

It's a great place for going for a walk or running. Has nice trails and the lake it's beautiful. Also has a few playgrounds for kids. There are washrooms in certain areas. If the day is sunny you can have a picnic or even swim in the lake.

Good groomed trails, lots of wildlife viewing: mink, herons, eagles, peregrines, owls, frogs, lily ponds, etc. Nice trail all around the lake takes about 2-3 hours (about 10 k) to walk. Dog and horse swimming areas, good for rowers and kayakers. Check local water quality reports- algae blooms and coliform counts can make swimming a no go, and can make... More

This is a popular place for families and anyone who would like to jump in the water on a hot day. There are two lakes in this park. Each has one prime beach / swimming entry point but you can get in wherever you can find access. Both also have (at times) a place to buy snacks and drinks but... More

Nothing more beautiful than walking/jogging around the 10km trail around Elk/Beaver Lake. Watch the wildlife - herons, ducks, geese and watch the rowers practicing their strokes on the Lake. The Canadian Men's and Women's Rowers train here so inspiring to watch them training hard.

This lake and park is outside of Victoria and you would need a car or take a bus to get there. It is the Canadian National Team Rowing Centre. Great swimming in the summer.

I love walking the 10 k and watching all of the inspirational runners. Its a great trail and a great place for a picnic! I take my dogs for walks at all sorts of places daily and this is the only place he actually refuses to leave! He pouts and runs away when it is time to get back in... More

This is one of my favourite places. It is surrounded by a 10 km trail, great for a weekend hike. There are several accesses to the water and even a boat ramp. Another location has a fishing float that's safe and stable for all ages to fish from or just go read a book and watch others. On the east... More

Visited with family including a baby. Good,. well marked trails, great views over the lake and some wildlife to be seen. Not crowded and the path is used by a mixture of adults, families, joggers, dog-walkers and horse riders. We walked for about two hours but kept away from the area near the Highway. Good space for parking and useful... More
