This is a great place to take young children. A wonderful authentic atmosphere with some really good staff. Avoid the restaurant. They are unable to produce simple food for a timetable. I gave them 15 minutes to produce 2 sandwiches and a baguette, at no point was I told this would take longer than normal nor was I told that... More

This railway is a good afternoon out if you visit with an open mind and you are not expecting a long train ride. Staff are friendly and the cafe is good value. However we think they miss opportunities in not having guide books on sale. It would also be nice to see a British steam engine rather than a European... More

The website describes the expeience as "relax and watch the rolling Avon Valley countryside pass by". However you spend more time being shunted back and forth along a 3 mile track and spend more time standing at the three stations hence constantly seeing the same outlook - I especially liked the junk storage of old sleepers and engine parts! Instead... More

OK, the available track is only 3 miles long, and there's more time waiting at the 3 station stops than there is actually on the move, but this is a great few hours for both adults and children. For older ones it's a reminder of how things used to be, with the old compartments on the train, the smartly-dressed staff... More

What a fantastic way to spend a morning or afternoon. A lovely ride on the railway seeing the scenery and fresh, tasty food in the cafe. A very well run attraction.

Came here as group for lunch today, superb. Roast lamb, beef or chicken, came with several roasties, new pots, yorkshire pudding, plus 3 fresh veg. Generous portions of tender meal, home cooked veg. Followed by home made bread and butter pudding ( also cheesecake, chocolate fudge puddings) Tea and coffee included in price of £9:50. Sat in railway carriage, fresh... More

Went with sons family on the Santa Express and it was a glorious day out. Friendly staff, nice presents for the grand children and just a relaxing, joyful time for everyone. Second year we have been and Xmas 2017 will see us there again I hope. Was on a tight schedule so didn't get to enjoy the station and the... More

We took our 3 Year old grandson on the Sherry and Mince Pie trip. It was an excellent event (obviously orange juice and Christmas biscuits for the children). The total journey lasted just under an hour which was just right (attention span) for a youngster He was fascinated by the steam engine moving from one end of the train to... More

We caught the 1030 Sunday train to see Father Christmas with our 2 young children. Arrived just after 10 and parked very easily (the car park was filling up quickly so defo recommend arriving 15-20 mins before your train so it's a nice easy stroll in and you have time to look at the train etc first). We had a... More
