Good pub

A good pub for a few drinks with friends in town. Not your generic city centre chain, as it has a proper pub feel to it.

What an amazing walkway through the town, steeped in traditional building either side, but not for those with walking difficulties, wheelchairs etc., it is steep but an enjoyable walk down (didn't try walking up) I shall leave that for another time.

A really well laid out Christmas Market with a lot of unusual options for presents, well produced map of attractions at each entrance.

Lovely quaint little shops and a real olde worlde charm. There's also a great pub at the bottom which puts on a fun quiz every week!!

This is quite a difficult place to find but you must try and walk up these lovely steps and go right back in time when Bristol was a different place..There is a great chippy at the bottom and also a lovely old pub.. What more do you need

just by the name "Crhistmas Steps" is enough to evoke the idea of "Ye, Merrye Ole England" What I like about this is that it's pretty close to the "beaten path" of the city streets. Doesn't hurt to spend at least 10-15 minutes to visit. Disclaimer: The "When did you travel?" option below does not offer a specific month &... More

As the title says. Nice place. Decent food. Bar staff miserable. It's cosy and warm and has that proper pub feeling

Got a little wet on our last visit but never mind found this attraction by accident. Christmas Steps is nationally famous for its historic shops that run up either side.

We went to see this street as the info we read said that it was Bristol's answer to the Shambles in York. As one time residents of York we have to say that it was nothing like the York Shambles. But, it is an interesting street and we were happy that we'd gone to see it. We started at the... More

Old but attractive direct route from what used to be the port to the higher levels of town. there are some quaint old shops and it can look pretty good before Xmas but overall much of it is a bit tired (but then it is c. 400 years old). Take care on a wet day, the stone steps can be... More
