Having seen the theatre on tv we were determined to visit on our recent Bristol trip. Whilst undergoing major refurbishment this is still a must visit place. The staff were friendly and the auditorium is a delight. Would love to return when all the work is complete.

We particularly like the student productions which are always of a high standard and show new talent at its best.

Not been to the Bristol Old Vic for some years. Lovely back stage bar with great service. Had booked seats for a Miles Judd evening. Seats were in the circle and we had a great unrestricted view. Seats are not comfortable and incredibly narrow with hardly any leg room. This was the downside. Must come again soon.

Old theatre with brilliant character that we went to watch David O'Doherty in. Sat in the Royal Box which was splendid you are on the stage pretty much lucky he wasn't a comedian that picks on his audiences.

First visit here since leaving area 8 years ago. Theatre still has the same charm and historic details as I remember from before. Went to see The Snow Queen which was a fantastic production; quality actors, great scenery and well directed. Had a couple of drinks afterwards in the bar. Theatre is quite hard to find for visitors as it... More

We went to see the Snow Queen on Christmas Eve. The Bristol Old Vic has a tradition of staging different performances to the usual Christmas shows. We loved this take on the Hans Christian Anderson tale. Really talented cast with lots of music, set changes and clever effects. The theatre is beautiful if a little quirky. Look at the wonderful... Been the old vic at least a dozen times in the last year and always have a good time. Great acting and thoroughly had a good evening Snow queen is a bit of an odd version of the hans version, but scary for small kids and completely bonkers. Great actress playing the duchess & parrot (you've got to see her!).... More

The old vic is one of the senior English theatres and had a face lift recently so that the interior is back to a good state of decor. Proves that people used to be much smaller- maintains the same seating results in reduced comfort if one is average height and/or stocky. Good sight from most areas in the theatre and... More

We're so blessed in Bristol to have such an important cultural hub in the city. There's nowhere else outside the west end that has such a strong theatre and associated theatre school. Saw some amazing productions over the years here - glad it's getting a makeover and can't wait to visit again soon.
