Proper old fashioned pub of the Dickensian era but genuine, not tarted up. Youngs, the owners, wanted to update it some time back but a successful campaign by the locals stopped this - thank heavens. It does not look much from the outside but inside...More

Came here in John Robin's recommendation and so glad we did. Completely charming place, great staff, full of character and good ale. Defiantly worth a visit. We enjoyed the 'place a penny on the lemon' and felt very welcome by the staff. Would recommend and...More

This is an excellent characterful boozer that also does very good food. We sat outside at the back of the pub at lunchtime and had a light lunch with a couple of drinks (very good selection of beers and Addlestone's cider on draught). Impressed enough...More

Stopped here for a few beers whilst on a pub crawl. The bar is very atmospheric and quite gloomy with all the dark panelling and subdued lighting. However, the bar has a very stale smell that is quite nauseous and we had to sit outside...More

The food here was second to none, particularly the Sunday roast. Massive portion with all the trimmings. Very cosy pub which accommodates for summer drinks or wintertime drinks. Feels very homely definitely a hidden gem!

We enjoyed drinks in this interesting pub, choosing to sit in the busy garden. Drinks were chosen from a wide selection of real ales and we all enjoyed our choices

This pub whisks you back in time. Loads of history with a real mix of customers. The food is good and the Sunday lunches are delicious and very reasonably priced. Happy staff make happy customers.

The pub itself is a bit dark inside but it has a lovely garden. The staff are always friendly and the food is delicious. Not far from where I work so a perfect place to meet friends for lunch.
