This is a great museum with loads of artifacts to suit a range of interests. The Egyptian collection is especially interesting and had lots of children enthralled. There's a gallery and porcelain on display which may not hold the attention of younger visitors but it is well worth a visit.

We only had time to look at the Ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome sections, but I loved the coffins and mummies in the Egypt section.

The Fitzwilliam is free to visit and on a Sunday morning it opens at 11.30 am. There is a great selection of art , antiquities and ceramics . Do allow yourself time as there is so much to see. I feel I must return the next time I visit Cambridge .

I had a lovely afternoon at the Fitzwilliam and hardly touched the sides! Some fantastic art. Just wish I'd allowed longer. Will definitely return on my next visit to Cambridge,

The Fitzwilliam offers a very good collection of classical antiquities, and renaissance, impressionist, and modern paintings. The Victorian era main building of the museum is a neoclassical jewel, as stunning as the collections it houses. The museum has free admission, and is a great place for families, friends, and couples alike to spend a couple of hours exploring when the... More

Pleasant and helpful staff. Well worth a visit. Ancient ceramics particularly good, as was the collection of impressionist paintings.

I was pleasantly surprised by the range and extent of collections on display in the museum. We happened to be there on a Sunday, when they arrange for lunchtime concerts. Although tickets for the concert were no longer available, staff directed us towards the adjacent galleries, so we still got to enjoy the music. Staff were very helpful, and where ticketed... More

This has to be one of the highlights of my visit - Went in at approximately 12pm came out nearly 5 hours later and still had missed bits. All for free, donations at you own discretion to which I gave without hesitation. Highly recommend even if for a flying visit it has a wow factor.

Enjoyed the Impressionist paintings and an excellent free recital on Sunday lunchtime given by Cambridge students.
