Cute Little Shop

We tend not to purchase souvenirs, but found something we just "had" to have here. Good selection of items to tempt even the most discerning customer!

Recently, my wife and I, retiree travellers, went on a two hour walking tour of Cambridge, led by Maggie, a Cambridge Info Centre guides. These two hours flew by all because Maggie did an outstanding tour, full of interesting facts and stories, leading the group’s discovery of the buildings and lanes, highlighting historical events and people, skilfully weaving in the... We llive near Cambridge but as we have visitors from abroad staying next week we thought we would get some up to date information from the Tourist Centre. I can only describe the lady behind the desk as extremely unhelpful and rude. She showed no interest and gave no real information other than selling us a basic map. After a... More

Visitor information centre is located in Guildhall, market square place, Cambridge. It is near to Kings college and corn exchnage. They open from 10 to 5. Shortage of staff and long queues make it little difficult to get proper information. Tourist map is available but details you will have to find yourself. Lot of punt operators will surround you nearby... More

We purchased our punt tickets at tourist information centre (TIC) as they were offering a discount on Magdalene Bridge Punts. When we got to the pickup, area there were lots of companies. We showed our tickets hey sent us down the line. When we got to the desk they had sent us too, there was no one there. Another punt... More

I had read one review of the Visitor Information Centre which said, quite incorrectly, that the service was grumpy and unhelpful, so I was a bit apprehensive - but how wrong. We were advised about places to see, responding to our questions with good knowledge and understanding, and we consequently saw places we otherwise would have missed (or paid less... More

This place was rather disappointing for a Tourist Information centre in one of the great cities of England. It does not compare well to the excellent TI at Oxford. The staff do not appear to want to be customer facing, they sit behind counters and are not very approachable. There does not seem to be much information on display for... More

Nicely laid out, but the staff here were only interested in selling their own tours and services. very poor service when enquiring about alternatives. I'm amazed this is allowed in a public tourist info centre.

They really helped finding good tours, even if these are rather expensive. Anyhow, the service was excellent, the employees very friendly and there's even a little shop.
