Fascinating place to while away a couple of hours peacefully. Opposite hotel so easy to enjoy a cocktail or beer before or after. Lots of strange objects perhaps too many for such a restricted space but interesting to see. Walk through the large imposing iron...More

Nice exebition, but to much for such a small place. The descriptions were not seen, small text. There should be more displays.

A lovely way to spend an afternoon, getting lost among the different artefacts and objects from so many different cultures. Although, if possible, maybe there are too many interesting things in one space!

Just the best small museum in the universe. A hidden, delightful gem of the place. Hey oldies - get the lift to the top floor first and then walk your way down......I love it to bits. Pitt Rivers?Eat your heart out!

This museum has lots of interesting artifacts with key information, however some displays have been removed and not replaced. Kid friendly with fun activities.

Upstairs there is one floor of archaeology and one floor of anthropology. These are both quite old fashioned with cabinets displaying items from specific countries or regions, interesting in themselves but with little overall co-ordination. However I understand there are plans for renovation and I...More

Aprt from the recently discovered gold & garnet Saxon cross, there are other Celtic, Roman & Saxon finds for local digs, plus a 14m totem pole from Canada, a large Papuan dugout and some Benin bronzes.
